On behalf of the United Somali Alliance, Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C with the advisory Somali Week is hosting the first of what we believe will be an annual gathering of Somali and American businesses, entrepreneurs, and private and government stakeholders aimed at facilitating business and trade between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the United States of America.
The Somali American Business Conference Initiative is a project focused on bringing Somali and American businesses and government agencies together to facilitate trade, commerce, and investments between the United States and Somalia. Somalia is currently the United States’168th largest goods trading partner, with $106 million in total (two-way) goods traded in 2019. The initiative aims to increase trade and commerce between the United States and Somalia in excess of 100% by 2032. We are currently lobbying for Somalia to be granted AGOA eligibility.
